How do you get a library card? How much do they cost?

To get a Hamden Library card you must come to the library and bring proof of identity (a photo ID such as a driver’s license or CT ID is preferred). If the ID you bring does not include your address, you must also bring proof of residence—a pre-printed document such as bill or check book that has both your name and Hamden address. An original library card is free. There is a $3 to replace a lost card.  A Hamden library card is valid for 3 years and may be used in any CT public library when presented with ID.
